| Wardrobe for Opportunity, a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization, helps low-income women in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties improve their image and self-esteem by providing them with quality business clothing appropriate for any job opportunity. Providing professional clothing is crucial to helping low-income jobseekers, but getting the job is only the first step. Through our Pathways to Opportunity program, Wardrobe for Opportunity has assisted over 350 women in developing the skill set necessary to advance in their careers and lay the foundation for a successful future. In 2007, Shorenstein donated $1,000 to the Wardrobe for Opportunity Fashion Show Fundraiser and hosted a suit drive on December 13, 2007. |

RTO: Rebuilding Together Oakland |
| |
With all-volunteer teams, Rebuilding Together Oakland rehabilitates community centers, and the homes of low-income seniors and disabled persons, so they may live in safety, comfort and independence. The annual RTO Project House: skilled and unskilled volunteers, with the exception of a small staff of four who manage the various programs, do all the work. The work is done at no charge to the homeowner or facility. For every dollar donated to RTO by sponsors and other donors, RTO provides three dollars of value to the Oakland community due to generous contribution of volunteer labor and materials and supplies donated to the organization. A team from Shorenstein Realty Services renovated the home of Rosetta Norfleet in North Oakland, where Rosetta, her family and neighbors are helping raise her charming great granddaughter. |
