Commuting Options at Oakland City Center

Oakland City Center is conveniently located to an array of mass transit options, including Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), the Alameda-Oakland Ferry to San Francisco, AC Transit bus service and Ride Share. In addition, secure parking for bicycles is available in several City Center locations. 

BAY AREA RAPID TRANSIT (BART): BART is the Bay Area's public transit system of high-speed electric trains, which connects Contra Costa, Alameda and San Francisco counties.

Travel time from Oakland City Center:

San Francisco Embarcadero Station:  12 minutes
Walnut Creek: 22 minutes
Daly City: 30 minutes
Fremont: 36 minutes
San Francisco International Airport (SFO): 36 minutes

The 12th Street/City Center BART station in downtown Oakland is located adjacent to City Center. After disembarking from the train, exit the station via the 13th Street exit. This exit opens onto the City Center Lower Plaza. From this entrance, follow the directional arrows to your destination building. http://www.bart.gov

FERRY:  Alameda Oakland Ferry - The Alameda/Oakland Ferry is a great way to commute from San Francisco into Oakland's City Center from locations around the San Francisco Bay. It takes about 12 minutes to walk from the Jack London Square ferry dock to 555 City Center. The ferry makes connections from the Ferry Building in San Francisco, PIER 39 in San Francisco, the City of Alameda and Angel Island State Park. http://www.eastbayferry.com

BUS: AC Transit is an innovative, modern bus system, owned by the public of the East Bay that serves Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.  There are bus stops located through downtown Oakland, including bus stops at 12th and Broadway and 14th and Broadway adjacent to Oakland City Center. http://www.actransit.org

CITY CAR SHARE: This is a car-sharing program where members can use cars at locations throughout San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley, without having to own the car. http://www.citycarshare.org
