Volunteer Fair at Oakland City Center
OAKLAND CITY CENTER AND THE VOLUNTEER CENTER OF THE EAST BAY TEAM UP TO LAUNCH VOLUNTEER FAIR
Public Invited November 10 to Assist Local Non-Profits
OAKLAND – With the holiday season just around the corner, many people find themselves thinking about how they can give to support their communities. During these uncertain economic times, the need is greater than ever. Oakland City Center and the Volunteer Center of the East Bay have teamed up to provide prospective volunteers an easy way to match their desire to give back to a local non-profit that needs assistance.
On Wednesday, November 10th from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, Oakland City Center and the Volunteer Center of the East Bay will hold a Volunteer Fair in the Oakland City Center Plaza between 14th and 12th Streets, Broadway and Clay in downtown Oakland. The Volunteer Fair will feature a dozen local non-profit organizations that need volunteers to enact their missions such as Habitat for Humanity, Chabot Space & Science Center, Wardrobe for Opportunity, the East Bay Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the Alameda County Food Bank. With such a diverse group of charities looking for support, the Volunteer Fair will make it easy for those looking to donate their time to find a worthwhile non-profit partner whose mission they find compelling.
The Volunteer Fair will also feature live music and prizes for those promising to donate their time. As the holiday season approaches, the Volunteer Center of the East Bay and the Volunteer Fair at Oakland City Center makes it easy to give the gift of your time back to the community.
